Amidst a "silly drama" regarding a mod to the Steam port of Spider-man: Remastered, the Devon-based mods site has addressed the community in a letter.

This follows a series of controversies at Nexus Mods, with data leaks and community backlash after the site stopped users from pulling their content for the site's new "collections" feature.

A user with the name "Mike Hawk", which the site believes to be a "sock puppet account" rather than a main account, uploaded a texture replacing mod for the Steam port of Spider-man: Remastered that changed the 'pride flags' found around the fictional version of New York City to American flags.

Believing this to be "against inclusivity and/or diversity" the Nexus team published this statement announcing the banning of the mod.

Against further community backlash the team refused to argue with the community saying "you can do that elsewhere, where we won't care enough to read it."

They conclude that "if this policy upsets you" users can "delete your account," providing a link for disgruntled users to do so.

Many members of the community took to twitter this week to voice their concern and have filled the reply section of their latest tweets, showcasing other mods, with their thoughs on the situation.
